COMIC TALK TODAY

It's Tuesday and time for the Comic Talk Headlines with Dustin, aka, Generally Nerdy! Catch up on everything that's happening in the world of comic books, movies and TV on Tuesdays and Fridays and be sure to subscribe to get fresh daily content.

According to the official Facebook page for the Vampire Chronicles TV series that is set to air on the Paramount Network and Hulu
later this year... maybe. According to them, Dee Williams has been brought in as the new showrunner. Her previous credits include
ER, Nashville, and Southland among others.

In Star Wars news, Alan Tudyk recently did an interview with ComicBook.com and they talked about the new Cassain Andor series
coming to Disney+ which Tudyk was pretty cautious to avoid making any direct statements. With the series being a prequel to the
Rogue One movie, it makes sense that Disney would bring back fan favorite K-2SO, voiced by Tudyk. His dancing around the questions
seems to imply he knows and can't tell.

Next we have a quickie from USA Networks. They have just put in a 10 episode straight to series order for Brave New World, the
Aldus Huxley book we were all forced to read in high school. THR is reporting that "Spider-Man: Homecoming producer, David Weiner will be the Executive Producer, showrunner, and one of the writers. Grant Morrison, Brian Taylor, Owen Harris, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey will also executive produce.

Our final TV update comes from Netflix. The streaming giant announced what we have all been anticipating, Jessica Jones and the Punisher are now cancelled. Jessica Jones will finish production on its current season, and call it quits. Punisher, sadly, will not see a third season.

Kicking on over to Movie news, we have 2 pieces from Star Wars. First, Rian Johnson has taken to twitter to set the record straight about his status with the franchise. He IS still set to direct his own trilogy, and he has NOT left the Star Wars production team. Second is a quick update from JJ Abrams. Principal photography has officially wrapped on Ep9.

Then another quickie, this time from the Dune Movie. Following the casting we talked about last week, we now have a release date for the
space epic. Nov 20th 2020.

The Bumblebee debate over weather or not the movie is a reboot or not is finally over. It is. Hasbro revealed during a panel at the New York Toy Fair that Bumblebee is set in "a new storytelling universe."

Keeping with the Hasbro train, also in that panel they might have leaked the release date of the New Mutants. As part of their visual
presentation, they had a graphic with upcoming movies and their release dates. The graphic put the release date at Sept 2. Which just might confirm earlier rumors that the movie is going to be released on a streaming service, foregoing the theaters, because Sept 2 is a Monday. Or it could just be a typo and they are still releasing it on August 2.

Next there is an update to that Forbes article we talked about last time that told us Harley won't be in the next Suicide Squad movie.
They are now saying that she WILL in fact, be in the James Gunn helmed movie. The only other returning cast member is possibly Will Smith's Deadshot, being as his original contract was for 2 movies.

Get those salt shakers ready because we have another Batman rumor to address. Revenge of the Fans is reporting that WB is "ironing out the details" on a contract to bring in Armie Hammer under the cape and cowl. Only to later have THR lead reporter, Borys Kit, take to Twitter to dispel the news as rumor, because HIS sources at WB say there are NO actors in negotiations for the part yet.
