COMIC TALK TODAY

It's Tuesday and time for the Comic Talk Headlines with Dustin, aka, Generally Nerdy! Catch up on everything that's happening in the world of comic books, movies and TV on Tuesdays and Fridays and be sure to subscribe to get fresh daily content.

First is , Batwoman. Executive Producer Sarah Schecter told the Wrap that Batman is "off limits for the foreseeable future." So they are
going to treat the Caped Crusader much like they decided to in Titans, reference him heavily, and avoid showing him as much as possible.
Schecter also spoke about the situation in Gotham that is cause for Batwoman to start fighting crime. It seems Batman has been missing in
action for about 3 years. Which is a different take on the character, but we will have to wait and see how it plays out.

Next, Terry Gilliam fans rejoice! The Time Bandits, one of the filmmaker's notable movies, is getting a TV series. Or, at least a pilot. Set to be written and directed by Taika Waititi for Apple and Executive Produced by Waititi, Gilliam and Dan Halstead.

That does it for TV on to Movies.

First is Captain Marvel, proving that a "boycott" from a small faction of online haters can't stop the Disney machine. Brie Larson it seems
is taking the opening weekend to levels pretty far beyond expectations. Coming in at $455 million world wide Captain Marvel is officially
the second largest opening weekend for a superhero movie ever. For an in depth and spoiler filled review, join me on my YouTube channel, Generally Nerdy tomorrow.

Next, Fox is adapting Eisner Award winning comic book Mouse Guard, and they have cast Andy Serkis and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. If you don't know Serkis, then you likely live in a rock and I would like to officially welcome you to nerd culture in the 21st century. Brodie-Sangster though might not exactly be a household name yet. He was Peter Pan in the Once Upon a Time series, and Liam Neeson's son in Love Actually. Serkis will  be playing Midnight, the villain of the story. Brodie-Sangster will be Lieam, a new member of the Guard.

And our final movie update comes from Collider about the new Suicide Squad movie. The rest of the roster of villains-turned-reluctant-heroes has been released. The characters reportedly joining Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and Idris Elba's Deadshot are Ratcheter, King Shark, Mister Polka Dot, and Peacemaker. Rumor also suggests that Dave Bautista is being eyed to play Peacemaker in the James Gunn helmed film.
