COMIC TALK TODAY

It's Wednesday and time for the Comic Talk Headlines with Dustin, aka, Generally Nerdy! Catch up on everything that's happening in the world of comic books, movies and TV on Tuesdays and Fridays and be sure to subscribe to get fresh daily content.

Welcome back nerds! I hope C2E2 was as amazing to you as it was to me. I know I didn't go, BUT NetherRealm had a pretty epic panel on day 1 that was streamed on YouTube. For a break down of the big reveal from that panel you can check my YouTube channel Generally Nerdy.

All that being said, let's jump into TV news!

Quickie update from Syfy on the second season of Krypton, we got the first trailer for the second season of the pre-Kal El series posted to the official Syfy Twitter account. Check it out for your first little peek at the show's version of ultimate Superman foe, Doomsday.

Then we got a fun update from Jon Favreau's Instagram account on the Mandalorian. Previously it was reported that Taika Waititi was not only going to be directing an episode of the show, but he was going to be making a cameo as well. That cameo has now been revealed(ish). Favreau posted a picture of Waititi in a vocal booth seemingly voicing infamous bounty hunting droid IG-88. Easter egg in the pic is also the Iron Man-dalorian helmet in front of Taika.

Next comes from Jake Busey in an interview he did recently with HN Entertainment. According to the younger Busey, there are talks going on about a Starship Troopers series that will see him and Casper Van Dien reprising their roles from the original movie.

Then we got, just this morning, the official reveal of Apple's streaming service. The iPhone company has dumped a reported $1 BILLION into the programming alone. Amazon and Netflix are both keeping a close eye on the burgeoning new service, as the backing Apple has secured seems to pose a potential threat to both. Apple has the support of big names from the likes of Steven Speilberg to Oprah Winfrey, and so much in between.

Sad news for Sci-Fi/Horror/Fantasy lovers, Supernatural will come to an end as of the conclusion of season 15. The announcement was made through Jensen Ackles' Intsagram page in a video that features Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins, the shows three primary leads. After the final episode airs Supernatural will officially be not only the longest running scripted show in the CW, but also the longest running sci-fi series in American broadcast history with 327 episodes.

Our final TV episode comes from DC Universe's Titans. First we get Slade Wilson cast, and now Rose Wilson has found her actor. Chelsea T. Zhang will be brought into the cast as Ravager, a.k.a. the daughter of Deathstroke. Zhang is probably best known, currently, for her role on Disney's Andy Mack series as Brittney.

Then we are moving on to Movie news!

First is a production update on the Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3. Production Weekly is reporting that production for the movie will begin
February of 2021. The time gap from the announcement of the reinstatement of James Gunn is likely due to his duties on set for his Suicide Squad reboot.

Then Scooby Doo is making a move back to theaters. This time will be his first animated foray onto the big screen, and we have our first casting announements for the movie. Zac Efron and Amanda Seyfried have been cast as the voices of Fred and Daphne respectively.

And to round out this week's episode is reboot news! That's right we are getting ANOTHER reboot from the 90s. This time the powers that be in Hollywood have deemed it necessary to give Blumhouse the reins on a reboot of The Craft. No word as to how much of the original will show up in the remake, but in the capable hands of Blumhouse, it might not suck.
