"I Am Gotham" is a weekly exploration of the Bat family of books from a long time Batman geek as he attempts to read every Batman appearance since 1939.
After a long hiatus, I Am Gotham is back to explore Batman history! In this episode, Martin discusses Detective Comics #39-42 from 1940 in an episode dubbed "Return To Gotham'! Are you reading along? Let us know! We'll be back in a few days to discuss Batman #2 and #3.
It's been so long but you eyes and ears do not deceive you, I Am Gotham is back! Hulu recently launched "Batman and Bill", a Hulu original documentary about the journey to get Bill Finger credit for his collaborations to Batman history and we just couldn't not talk about it! The documentary chronicles Marc Nobleman's years long journey into discovering who Bill Finger was and how his contributions shaped the Batman mythos, so who better to join Martin on this discussion than Gotham By Geek's Darrell Taylor! Sit back and enjoy the ride and be sure to check out the documentary!
We'll be back next week with a discussion of Batman #39-42 as well as Batman #2 and #3!
Welcome to another episode of I Am Gotham! Friend of the show and podcaster extraordinaire Darrell Taylor and I got a chance to go in-depth about the current state of Batman on The Nerdy Legion podcast recently and I wanted to put out the discussion as a standalone I Am Gotham episode for Batman fans. Do you agree with the current direction of the book? Do you have strong feelings either way on the book? Let me know on Twitter @geekvine or email hello@nerdylegion.com. I promise, we'll return to our regular episode discussions next week!
Could it be true? Are you imagining things? Is the podcast back? It's true! Welcome back to I Am Gotham, a podcast exploring Bat family history. This episode is a little different than what we usually do on the podcast and was originally recorded as an episode of The Nerdy Legion podcast as part of a larger discussion. Martin is joined by Nick from Nerdy Legion and Mike from Gotham By Geeks and Retrocast to finally share our thoughts on the latest arc of Batman, I Am Suicide (issues #9-13). How is Tom King's vision of Batman different from what has come before? Why do Mike and Martin have such issues with this portrayal of the character? Find out about this and much more on this episode!
Note that the show will be back with six brand new episodes this coming week.
Welcome to the second episode of I Am Gotham, a show exploration Batman family history from 1939 to the present. This week, Martin talks about Detective Comics #35-38 as well as Batman #1 from 1940. This episode marks a ton of historical firsts for Batman so if you have never read these issues, I suggest you pick these up and read them!
