On this episode of Comic Talk Today, Martin takes a look at the past and discusses some comic book news before taking a peak into the future to talk about some book recommendations for this week's new comic book day. In the news segment, DC Black Label launch dates announced, plus an interesting reprint strategy from DC, the Maxx returns! (maybe), Heroes In Crisis gets announced and Martin's not sure what to think, Ahoy Comics wants to make comics great again, and Marvel wants to mash up all their superheroes in a teaser!

It is a new week which means it's time for Top Of The Pile, the episode in which Martin discusses some of his favorite reads from last new comic book day. Thursday means it's time for a little comic book therapy and this week, Martin is joined by writer and artist Bridgit Connell to discuss her new book from Titan Comics, Brother Nash. Martin and Bridgit dive deep into the move from web comic to published work, the inspiration for the book, creating such a deep mythology in her series, and of course, what it's like to break into the industry.

Inspired by a recent article Martin read with a quote from a Fox executive, Martin goes on a rant about why Hollywood should double down on comic books as an inspiration for future ideas instead of bashing on studios that rely on comics for a large source of their revenue The numbers don't lie, comic book movies are a hit. Then, Martin takes some listener questions about sequential art, print vs digital and finding the time to get through reading your pull list.

It's Tuesday which means it's time for the news on a new episode of Comic Talk Today! In this episode, Martin goes over the seven new launch titles for yet another Vertigo reboot and whether it may be too little too late (or maybe just awesome), plus, Geoff Johns steps down from the Chief Creative Office position at DC and what that means for the movie properties and his writing work. Spoiler, it's really great news! Plus, stick around to the end for another installment of the Comic Predictor in which Martin talks about some of his picks for tomorrow's new comic book day!
