Spinning out of a conversation on the Comic Book Page slack channel, Eric and James sit down to talk online volume discounters in the comic market.  All good, or all bad? Maybe somewhere in between.  Join us, as we dig in to whether the online discounts that you see are as good as you think…

In this episode Eric and James dig in to a number of questions about current comic book events.  Hear how recent events from the big two have been met in our shop – Secret Wars, Civil War II, The Button, Justice League/Suicide Squad, Secret Empire, and more.  We share how things have sold, what we believe has made for a successful launch vs a successful event, and other related feedback our customers have shared with us about these events.

In this episode James and Eric sit down again with Clint to talk about C2E2 2017! We talk about the facility, layout, vendors, and creators.  Clint talks about his experiences meeting some of his heroes as he looks to become a creator himself and what type of advice they gave him.  We end the episode with a brief recap of the DC Retailer Dinner than Eric and James attended (and the arrival of the weekly Diamond shipment!).

James and Eric take some time to recap the days events at the 2017 Diamond Retailer Summit, held at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.  We cover the news from various comic publishers, manga publishers, and creators.  Some were highlights … some were not.  Listen in to get our reaction and hear about a couple of new exciting products/publishers that caught our eye.

As a surprise, we are joined by shop customer and friend Clint! Clint gives us insight into what it’s like anticipating going to your first big convention, as well as a few nuggets of how he got into comics, what he wants to do in the comic industry, and creators he is looking forward to meeting.

In this episode, James and Eric take a dip into the Marvel Retailer Summit discussions as reported on by ICV2, Newsarama, BleedingCool, and more.  Hear our take on some of the comments from retailers, our thoughts on Marvel’s responses, and overall market considerations we take in to account.
